PERSONALITY

Positive Traits:
→ Confident. He is self-assured and secure about himself. This does not make him arrogant, but he will never be meek. He knows what he can and can’t do, and he’s proud of what he can do. He has faith in himself so others can have faith in him.

→ Cheerful. There is hardly a good reason for him to be in a bad mood, unless something serious happens. He can shrug off the small irritating things that plague everyone, so he is normally happy. His demeanor will usually rub off on others.

→ Reliable. While his perfectionism makes him obsessive, it also means that anyone can count on him to do the best that he can do. When he sets to a task for someone else, he follows through, persevering even if it’s an extremely difficult task, though it will take quite a while to do so.

→ Cool-headed. Small, irritating things don’t get to him, and neither do petty insults. He will remain calm in most situations, even the heat of battles. He isn’t necessarily stoic or emotionless-appearing in these situations, but never expresses his anger in a violent way unless that is essential for some reason.

Negative Traits:
→ Aloof. While he isn’t a cold individual in general, he isn’t very affectionate. He gets along with most people but if someone decides to flirt with him or be extra friendly, he tends to close up or detach himself from the individual. He is also decidedly awkward with kids.

→ Miserly. He hoards all the gold he has, and isn’t prone to charity. He feels that if he earned something then he should be the only one with the right to have it.

→ Close-minded. He isn’t open-minded at all. If he hadn’t thought or something or doesn’t automatically accept it as the “right” way, he will never accept it, or at least won’t be converted to any other thoughts easily.

→ Perfectionist. He obsesses over details, which causes him to take much longer than he should to do things. One might also say that he cares too much for his reputation since he tries to be above most standards on what he does.

Overall:
A couple of traits stand out about Skett: his good-natured demeanor and perfectionism. He is not very overbearing in his confidence and cheerfulness, and is on the contrary a calm individual who - to an extent - doesn't like to show excess affection. He is serious about his work, and will take days to perfect each pelt he works with. He prides himself on being one of the best in the trade, and if someone insults his work, he will try all the harder to improve. He definitely comes across as miserly because of the pay he keeps to himself from his job, as well.

Being in the Frost Order, furs are necessary for anyone to survive the cold. But because he is in the trade himself, he can get his hands on the best of the best. He doesn't dress with much color, obviously, but the pelts he wears tend to be more rare. He might be one of the best-dressed followers in the region.

Overall:
Skett looks interesting even if he is not especially attractive. His unique furs drape a average-height if underweight frame. He has pale skin, not getting out very much, and living in the northern region that he does. His side-swept hair is grey, perhaps more silver in color, but it isn't from age. His face betrays most of his youth, though his eyes always seem too serious for his cheerful smile. He has no real striking features, other than a slightly crooked and sharp canine tooth, and his hands which are slightly discolored from years of working with chemicals.

HISTORY

Family: Bran, father. Emelie, mother. Taryn, sister.
History:
Skett had an unremarkable life, which is for sure. Born in the Order of Frost, raised in the Order of Frost, he never thought about changing his allegiance. As an initiate, he learned some magic from his mother, but mostly the tools of the trade from his father, who had run the fur business for years. This was all he knew: loyalty, traditionalism. He learned that beggars were thieves and it was every man for himself. He cared a lot for his little sister, who he protected until she was able to protect herself, at which point she became a follower and left the city to work elsewhere, though they do still keep in touch. Even the question of his sexuality never bothered him; it did not go with tradition, but he had a homosexual aunt, and he heard from her that it was shaky ground but also a new norm among society. He had no long-term relationships to affect his outlook on attraction and love, and even as a man freed from his parents and most of their overbearing ways, he doesn't make a big deal about it.

Only one event extremely affected his overall personality. First, the family was going through a tough time, and skinning methods became more brutal and convenient to save time so that the little shop could churn out pelt after pelt. This disgusted Skett, especially when he saw his sister cry when she never did. When his father died and he took over the business, he slowed everything down but offered some of the finest fur coats and whatnot for the upper class followers and even the lieutenants.
